    Air quality

Air pollution is the leading public health crisis in the UK today and it is hitting children, people with a lung condition and the elderly the hardest.

We need to act now to reduce the number of polluting motor vehicles on our roads, and make it easier for people to walk, wheel and cycle.

Read our air quality recommendations to policy makers.

Protect what we love from the climate crisis

Did you know that transport accounts for 27% of the UK's greenhouse gas emissions?

Shifting to walking, wheeling and cycling for shorter journeys is one of the best ways to make a carbon-zero future.

As members of the Climate Coalition, we want to help you make that shift to combat the climate crisis.

So get involved and show the love for the life you want to protect.

  • Moving the nation UK Walking and Cycling Alliance manifesto

    Moving the nation

As a member of the Walking and Cycling Alliance, alongside the Ramblers, the Bicycle Association, Cycling UK, British Cycling and Living Streets, with a combined membership of more than 330,000 people, we launched a joint manifesto ‘Moving the Nation’ in June 2018.

This sets out a new vision of a future where everybody in the UK can live, work and play in places that are healthy, vibrant and that make walking and cycling the natural choice for short journeys.
