Cycling access through Longleat Estate

Longleat Estate has kindly granted permissive access for pedal cycles through their grounds.

Route diversion: Route 24 and Route 25 (Longleat Estate)

Route 24 and Route 25 through the Longleat Estate in Wiltshire will be subject to a temporary diversion on Sunday 25 January between 7am and 2pm due to an event taking place on the estate.

The diversion will apply across the entire estate for the duration of the event. No suitable alternative route is available during this time.

Route users are asked to respect the temporary closure. Access through the Longleat Estate is granted by kind permission of the estate, and temporary closures form a condition of access.

Please plan journeys in advance and follow any signage in place.

Longleat Estate has kindly granted permissive access for pedal cycles on National Cycle Routes 24 and 25, as well as the Wiltshire Cycleway. Normally, access is restricted to paying visitors, so the following conditions apply:

  • Access is for pedal cycles only.

  • Pedestrians, e-scooters and horse riders are not permitted.

  • Cyclists must stay on the designated cycle route.

  • Stopping on the route is not permitted.

  • Use of Longleat facilities is not included.

Cyclists who wish to leave the designated route or use any facilities must purchase a valid Longleat ticket.

The estate may temporarily close the cycle routes at any time, without notice, for safety, operational reasons or events.
