About the role
This is a fantastic chance to join the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust, working within the Volunteering team as our new Senior Volunteering Development Manager.
As the Senior Volunteering Development Manager, you will be required to support guide and inspire Scotland's National Cycle Network (NCN) teams on implementing and embedding our Volunteering and Engagement Strategy.
Key Responsibilities of the role will include
· Leading on implementing the Volunteering and Engagement strategy in Scotland. Identifying opportunities to support diverse engagement on the National Cycle Network in partnership with the Engagement department
· Inspiring and leading colleagues to embed, integrate and celebrate volunteering on the National Cycle Network in Walk Wheel Cycle Trust Scotland. Be a professional lead for volunteer services, providing expert advice and support for Scotland colleagues, and in coordination with UK-wide Volunteering Team.
· Working closely with the Volunteering Principal Project Manager to identify, shape and implement volunteering initiatives relevant to Scotland, with potential scalability and roll out across the UK.
· Supporting volunteer management administrative processes as required, for example by issuing tasks, maintaining accurate volunteer records, and administration of volunteer recruitment processes.
This role involves regular travel, with work taking place at different locations to support and deliver projects for the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust.
About you
We ask that you have experience in the following areas:
· Experience of strategy implementation
· Demonstrable success in leading and delivering multiple projects
· Experience of leading volunteering or community-based projects
· A deep and comprehensive understanding of contemporary best practice in volunteering
· Ability to demonstrate influential relationship building
· Ability to demonstrate an inspirational, solutions-led approach to achieving change, with a commitment to creativity, innovation and the delivery of high-quality products.
· Ability to inspire and create strong working relationships with people from a diverse range of backgrounds
