Louise

I’ve always loved walking and used to walk 7 miles to and from work each day. Now, as I recover from cancer, I manage about 3 days a week but hope to build back up to 5. There's something amazing about getting out early in the morning and watching the city come to life.

I take my students on weekly walks to the local park. They enjoy seeing the wildlife and playing there, especially since we don’t have a playing field at school. We cross two busy roads but the pedestrian crossings make us feel safe.

Walking has made such a positive impact on my well-being and I’m excited to walk more as I recover.
