With National Cycle Network Route 93 on her doorstep, Joni prefers to jump on her bike and cycle into Londonderry for most of her short local trips.

She loves the freedom this brings her and wanted to share it with others. 

Jodi volunteers offering led group rides each month to share the joy with others. 

In the last school year alone, the I Bike programme delivered approximately 1,600 activities to 17,000 pupils across Scotland.

Our volunteers help make it possible and inspire young people to walk, wheel and cycle. 

By teaching children and young people how to cycle or scoot, I Bike volunteers help to improve their wellbeing while gaining a fun and rewarding experience in return.

A volunteer conservation group in Paisley helps people living with a learning disability connect to their local community, whilst at the same time looking after their local National Cycle Network. 

Carrying out the litter picks on foot along traffic-free paths weaving through woodland and greenspace, the volunteers can access local nature whilst working together as a group.

For the past three years, a dedicated group of Walk Wheel Cycle Trust staff members and volunteers have been adding a splash of colour to Route 1.

Each year, they come together to plant wildflowers along the Route.  Months later, the results speak for themselves.

What was once a plain patch of land becomes a vibrant display of colour, bringing joy to the thousands of people who walk, wheel and cycle along this well-used section of Route 1.
